How to Create a Quote
Overview
You can create a quote in the Service module instead of moving between the Quote and Sales module and the Service module.
Before performing the steps detailed below, ensure that this part of your build is set up correctly. The relevant steps to set up the features and workflows detailed in this article can be found here:
In order to view content or perform actions referred to in this article you need to have the appropriate permissions enabled in your security group. Go to System > Setup > Security Groups and access your security group to update your permissions. The relevant security group tab and specific permissions for this article can be found here:
To create a quote in the Service module:
- Tap the icon > + NEW QUOTE.
- If you use multi-company, select the relevant Company to build the quote.
- Under Customer tap CHOOSE to select a customer or customer contract.
- Alternatively tap the + icon to create a new customer.
- Tap ADD.
- Under Site tap CHOOSE.
- Alternatively tap the + icon to create a new site.
- Tap ADD.
- Enter Quote name as required.
- If the customer has a default cost centre it is added to the quote automatically.
- Tap + ADD.
- Tap to CHANGE and Rename cost centre as required.
- Manually enter or tap Insert Script to complete the Description.
- Tap ADD.
- Select a Sales person as required. The Assigned Technician defaults to the logged in user.
- The Service Fee defaults to the one selected on the customer card. Alternatively, select a Service Fee as required.
- The Due Date defaults to today’s day so that appears on the schedule once it has been created.
- Enter an Order number and Description as required.
- Add Notes as required.
- Tap CREATE.
- Note that all quotes created in the Service module are service quotes.
