Technician Activity Report
Overview
This report displays employee hours scheduled to activities Non-job related billable and non-billable hours. Anything associated with running your business that has an associated labour cost and can’t be charged to jobs. defined in System > Setup > System Setup > Activities. This is useful for reviewing payroll, as you can determine how many hours technicians (your field employees and contractors) are spending on activities such as stocktaking or workshop duties, as well as the cost of technician activities to your business.
As hours are determined from the schedule, you need to record activity times routinely for an accurate report. Costs are calculated from the pay rate and employment costs entered in employee / contractor card files.

In order to view content or perform actions referred to in this article you need to have the appropriate permissions enabled in your security group. Go to System > Setup > Security Groups and access your security group to update your permissions. The relevant security group tab and specific permissions for this article can be found here:
To view the report:
- Go to Reports > View Reports > Technicians > Technician Activity.
- Under Employee Schedule Date, select the date range.
- Select from the Activity and Employee options to filter the report.
- Click Select All to include all active activities / employees / contractors. Alternatively, select No Filter to include archived activities / employees / contractors.
- Click Search.
The columns in the report include any activities that technicians have been scheduled to within the specified date range. Each activity column shows the number of hours scheduled to each technician.
Aside from the activity columns, the columns contain the following information:
Base Pay | Total number of scheduled activity hours as a whole. |
Days | The total number of days that the activities occurred on. |
Work Days | The total number of scheduled activity hours divided by the number of hours in a work day. You can define a Work Day in your Schedule Default settings. |
Cost | The technician's pay rate and employment costs multiplied by the total hours. This does not include overhead. |
You can download the information in the report as a spreadsheet in CSV format, viewable in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet software.
To download the report:
- Generate the report as required.
- Click the icon in the top right, then click CSV.
- View, print or save the CSV, as required.
