About Simpro Mobile Security Groups: Service Module

Overview

The purpose of a security group is to restrict or limit access to various functions within Simpro Premium based on a user's role in your organisation. For example, your technicians may not require access to creating activities from their device, or you can also limit their ability to modify totals in job cost centres.

Security groups are defined in System A screenshot of a schedule icon with a grey calendar icon and an arrow. > Setup > Simpro Mobile Security Groups.

Go to All > Service Module to view and manage the security groups that define the general functions in Simpro Mobile.

General

  • Enable: Select Enable to allow access to Simpro Mobile Service module from the device. If Enable is not selected, no other features under General can be accessed from the Service module.
  • Restrict to Assigned Storage Devices: Select to restrict access only to storage device assigned on the employee / contractor card.
  • Create Job Purchase Order: Select to allow creating purchase orders on a job.
  • Email a Job Card: Select to allow emailing job cards to customers.
  • Create Jobs: Select to allow creating jobs.
  • Edit Job Description: Select to allow editing job descriptions.
  • Edit Cost Centre Description on Jobs: Select to allow editing cost centre descriptions.
  • Allow Assigning of Jobs to Others: Select to allow when creating a job, to choose who to assign to the job.
  • Collect Customer Signatures: Select to allow collecting of customer signature sign-offs.
  • Enable / Disable Job Purchase Orders: Select to allow creating and viewing purchase orders.
  • Ability to Change Tax: Select to allow changing tax for jobs.

Assets

  • Enable: Select Enable to allow access to Assets from the device. If Enable is not selected, no other features under Assets can be accessed from the Service module.
  • Create Assets: Select to allow creating assets.
  • Edit Asset Details: Select to allow viewing and editing assets.
  • Use Asset History: Select to allow using asset history.
  • Allow changing Customer Contracts on Assets: Select to allow changing customer contracts on assets.

Invoicing

  • Enable: Select Enable to allow access to Invoicing from the device. If Enable is not selected, no other features under Invoicing can be accessed from the Service module.
  • Take Payments: Select to allow taking payments on jobs.
  • See Pricing in the Catalogue / Prebuild / Stock / Labour / Service Fees: Select to allow viewing pricing on catalogue, pre-build, stock, labour and service fee items.
  • Add Discount or Fee to Cost Centres of Job Billing: Select to allow adding discount or fee to cost centres.
  • Adjust Totals on Cost Centres of jobs: Select to allow editing totals in job cost centres.

Quotes

  • Enable: Select Enable to allow access to Quotes from the device. If Enable is not selected, no other features under Quotes can be accessed from the Service module.
  • Create Quotes: Select to allow creating quotes and viewing pricing.
  • Add Attachments on Quotes: Select to allow adding attachments on quotes.
  • Quote Search (Scheduled and Assigned Quotes): Select to allow searching for quotes that the mobile user has been scheduled to or that they have been made an assigned technician. Note that this only applies to quotes where the mobile user has been made an assigned technician, not quotes where they have only been made an assigned salesperson or manager.
  • Pending and Progress Quotes: Allows access to search quotes that the technician has not been assigned or scheduled to.
  • Allow Editing of Archived Quotes: Select to allow editing of archived quotes.
  • Quote Card Approval: Select to allow quotes to automatically be approved.
  • Email a Quote: Select to allow emailing quotes to customers.
  • Edit Quote Description: Select to allow editing quote descriptions.
  • Edit Cost Centre Description on Quotes: Select to allow editing cost centre descriptions on quotes.
  • Allow Quote to Job Conversion: Select to allow you to convert quotes to jobs.
  • Add Discount or Fee to Cost Centres of Quote: Select to allow adding discounts or fees to quote cost centres.
  • Adjust Totals on Cost Centres of Quote: Select to allow adjusting totals in quote cost centres.
