How to Use Stock Transfer Reasons

Overview

If you set up stock transfer reasons, you can select and record a predefined reason when stock is transferred from one storage device to another,. This helps you to see not just where your stock is flowing but also the common reasons for stock transfers to give you better insights into your stock management.

In order to view content or perform actions referred to in this article you need to have the appropriate permissions enabled in your security group. Go to System A screenshot of a schedule icon with a grey calendar icon and an arrow. > Setup > Security Groups and access your security group to update your permissions. Stock Transfer Reasons

To create a stock transfer reason:

  1. Go to System A screenshot of a schedule icon with a grey calendar icon and an arrow. > Setup > System Setup.
  2. Hover over Materials and click Stock Transfer Reasons.
  3. Click Create Stock Transfer Reason.
  4. Enter a Name.
  5. Click Create.

Above the Stock Transfer Reasons table, use the toggle ON button to make this field mandatory for users to complete, or leave it as optional.

To edit a stock transfer reason:

  1. Go to System A screenshot of a schedule icon with a grey calendar icon and an arrow. > Setup > Materials > Stock Transfer Reasons.
  2. Click the stock transfer reason you need to edit.
  3. Change the Name as required.
  4. Click Save.

To delete a stock transfer reason:

  1. Go to System A screenshot of a schedule icon with a grey calendar icon and an arrow. > Setup > System Setup > Materials > Stock Transfer Reasons.
  2. Click the A delete icon with a red circle and a white minus symbol. icon on the stock transfer reason you want to delete.
  3. Click OK.

To delete multiple stock transfer reasons at once:

  1. Go to System A screenshot of a schedule icon with a grey calendar icon and an arrow. > Setup > System Setup > Materials > Stock Transfer Reasons.
  2. Select the stock transfer reasons you want to delete, or click Select All.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click OK.

When you create a stock transfer, select a reason from the Reason drop-down.
