How to Import MYOB Data to Simpro Premium
Overview
If you have a new Simpro Premium build and all of your contacts are already in MYOB, perform an initial import in the accounting link to bring your MYOB contacts into Simpro Premium as customers and suppliers.
Once you have completed an initial import, you cannot perform it again unless you delete all of your customers and / or suppliers from Simpro Premium.

Before performing the steps detailed below, ensure that this part of your build is set up correctly. The relevant steps to set up the features and workflows detailed in this article can be found here:
The initial import copies customers and suppliers from MYOB into Simpro Premium. If the Display Name for a customer in MYOB has a first name and last name, the customer is imported as an individual customer. If not, they are imported as a company customer.
If the customer in MYOB contains a physical street address, the import uses this address to create a site card file in Simpro Premium.
Make sure you must remove all Contact IDs (also referred to as Card IDs) from your MYOB Contacts before importing them as customers in Simpro Premium. When customers are imported into Simpro Premium they are created with Simpro Premium-specific Customer IDs. When you transfer for the first time using the accounting link, any MYOB Contacts that have blank Contact IDs are automatically updated with the Customer IDs from Simpro Premium.
The accounting link uses the Simpro Premium Customer ID and the MYOB Contact ID to determine if a customer from Simpro Premium exists in MYOB. If you do not remove Contact IDs, the accounting link will not recognise the customer in Simpro Premium as existing in MYOB and you will be prompted to transfer the customer to MYOB creating a duplicate.
To perform an initial import:
- Enable the MYOB AccountRight Live accounting link as normal, then return to the dashboard.
- Go to Utilities > MYOB AccountRight > Connection.
- Click Connect to MYOB AccountRight.
- Enter your MYOB username and password to authorise Simpro Premium to connect to your MYOB account.
- After you are directed back to your Simpro Premium build, click the Initial Import tab.
- Click Import Customers / Suppliers as required.
Your customers / suppliers import in the background. You can leave the MYOB accounting link and use other features of Simpro Premium in the meantime.
After completing the initial import, the Initial Import tab disappears.
It is recommended that you check your customer and supplier card files in Simpro Premium to ensure they have imported correctly.
