Simpro Mobile FAQs
Before contacting Simpro support with a question, please read our frequently asked questions below.
You can log in to Simpro Mobile with your Simpro Premium login credentials only if you are assigned a mobility licence.
The Simpro Premium URL is the text following "https://" and preceding .simpro from your Simpro Premium web page URL. For example, the Simpro Premium URL is tradeservices for https://tradeservices.simprosuite.com.
Tap the blue text following the Simpro Premium URL field to ensure the correct domain is selected. For example: simprocloud.com or simprosuite.com.
- To speed up the loading process, limit the number of Pre-build or Catalogue groups selected in System > Setup > Mobile > Simpro Mobile.
- Additionally, to limit your data usage and optimise Simpro Mobile loading time, toggle off Download Price Book images and Supporting Materials in Simpro Mobile > Settings.
- The loading time for Simpro Mobile depends on internet connection and your device specifications.
If you log out of Simpro Mobile, drafts that are not submitted to Simpro Premium are discarded. To avoid losing your data, ensure that you submit all quotes and jobs to Simpro Premium before logging out.
As long as you remain logged in, up to 50 drafts are retained. Tap the delete icon to remove a draft from your list.
Currently Simpro Mobile is available for Android (version 6 and above) and iOS (version 13 and above). Simpro Mobile and the Quote and Sales module is tested on recent Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy s7, s8, s9, as well as Google Pixel 1 and 2. Older devices may perform slowly and become unresponsive.
This error appears if you have no cost centres set up in Simpro Premium. Go to System > Setup > Accounts > Cost Centres to create a new cost centre and perform a pull down refresh to resolve the error.
Alternatively, verify and update your version of Simpro Mobile.
If you select service fees and no items are available or certain catalogue items or pre-builds are unavailable, log off and log back in to sync your materials with Simpro Mobile.
Simpro Mobile keeps you logged in unless you tap Logout in the menu, uninstall the app, or clear cache for the Simpro Mobile using your device settings. To save initial loading time, log out of Simpro Mobile only when it is absolutely necessary.
Quotes or jobs that contain the following elements are not displayed in the module when scheduled or assigned:
- Customer discounts and fees
- Pre-paid jobs
- Project quotes / jobs
- Invoiced jobs (partially or fully)
- Archived quotes / jobs.
Simpro Mobile operates predominately offline and works independently to Simpro Premium most of the time. If an item is deleted in Simpro Premium, Simpro Mobile registers this only when sending the project containing that item, back to Simpro Premium.
In this scenario, the user should perform a complete refresh (log out and back in) to update the status of the deleted / archived item, or consult with their Simpro Premium expert to re-activate the archived item.
Only supporting materials added as URLs are accessible in the Quote and Sales module at the current stage.
In the Quote and Sales module, options primarily represent different proposals that you present to the customer. When a technician sends a quote / job to Simpro Premium, the options that are not chosen by a customer on the Presentation page (which means the circle at the top right of an option not selected) are not retained as primary cost centres.
- For quotes: The unselected Options become optional cost centres which you can add at a later stage, if required.
- For jobs: The unselected Options are discarded.
This is to ensure that these options are not considered in calculations for the quote / job, and made chargeable to the customers.
If you update the Simpro Mobile app while you are logged in to it and the Timesheet module check box is enabled in your employee / contractor card, you must perform a pull-down refresh. You can then swipe the screen to the right or tap the menu icon at the top-left corner to access the Timesheet module.
You must tap START WORK before you can update the job card in service.
You cannot Review and Finish a job in the Service module unless you have completed any mandatory pre-audits and post audits.
Yes. When you perform an action, such as starting work that triggers your location to be recorded a Geostamp is created even if you are offline. Once you come back online, the location where you performed the action is submitted to Simpro Premium.
The Quote and Sales module is designed to manage multiple cost centres allowing users to present customised options to their customers. Although this helps for extensive works, sometimes technicians would want to quickly build a new job when in the field and start work on it immediately. In such instances, creating a job in the Service module is more efficient. Creating a job in the Service module gives you the option to assign a technician other than yourself. Additionally, creating jobs in the Service module eliminates the need to assign technicians the access to two different modules.
No, you can only assign audits on a cost centre basis.
To save an audit as a template go to System > Setup > Mobile > Simpro Mobile > Audits. Click the required audit type, select the audit to be used as a template and click SAVE AS NEW TEMPLATE.
To create an audit from an existing template go to System > Setup > Mobile > Simpro Mobile > Audits and click the required audit type. Under Templates click CREATE AUDIT next to the relevant template.
You can create as many custom fields as you need to record asset information. However, forms will only allow you to present 10 fields of custom fields data before form fields will have to be manually specified.
Technicians are not able to remove / delete assets in Simpro Mobile, although they can create if a new asset is required.
When you are uploading attachments, at the top of the attachments page in Simpro Mobile, you can select either job or site and then upload the attachment to the relevant area.
In Simpro Premium go to System > Setup > Mobile > Connect and verify the options available and then set up your Simpro Premium Security group to match this.
Take off templates are currently a Simpro Premium-only feature. Pre-builds would be the best way to add multiple items on the mobile app.
Leads can only be created in Simpro Premium. Once converted to a quote these can be used in Simpro Mobile.
Quote in the Quote and Sales module can be viewed in a way that is aesthetically pleasing for customers. If you have images for catalogue items or pre-builds they are visible in the Quote and Sales module. You can also set up cost centres so that they can be used for different levels of style selling. Additionally, the Quote and Sales module allows you to easily apply add-on pricing and sell memberships.
Quotes in the Service module allow you to manage pre-work prior to the job and generally provide the information needed to record this work.
Yes, submitting time via the timesheet will update the time on the job automatically. You are able to view this on the job in Simpro Premium.
When tapping on the catalogue item name, you will see the picture you have set up against the catalogue item.
This can be done using the Customer Asset List Report in Simpro Premium but it cannot be completed in Simpro Mobile. You can search for assets added on the site using the custom field information against the asset, though you must know the custom field information you are searching for.
The favourites section of your catalogue cannot be added to view in Simpro Mobile as it is not an actual catalogue group, just a collection of regularly used items within your build. If you have a selection of frequently used products you could create an actual favourites group and arrange them into this group. Alternatively, you could add a search term to all of these items to make it easier to locate them on Simpro Mobile. Learn more about search terms in How to Create a Catalogue Item.
You are not able to use scripts for technicians notes. This is consistent with the functionality from Simpro Premium.
Yes, you can use barcodes or QR Codes provided the numbers and/or letters associated with the barcode are entered as a search term on the catalogue items in Simpro Premium. Alternatively, Simpro Premium has the ability to generate and print barcodes for your catalogue items that can be used with Simpro Mobile. Learn more in How to Use Barcodes in Simpro Premium.
Open the job you want to raise a purchase order for and scroll to view the Purchase Orders option under the +Stock and +Catalogue options. If this option is not available, raising purchase orders permission has not been enabled within your Simpro Mobile Security Group.
You are limited to uploading 10 at a time to avoid overwhelming the app and causing syncing issues. This ensures that the photos are uploaded correctly against the job.
Linked variations for quotes and jobs cannot be raised through Simpro Mobile. However, this is currently on the roadmap for release.
Each employee can only have one Simpro Premium security group and one Simpro Mobile security group assigned to them at a time. You can create as many variable security groups and reassign them in Simpro Premium as required.
Within Simpro Mobile, you can only view tasks linked to a job when you are in that particular job. You are currently able to view tasks which are also assigned to the same job, but not tasks that are assigned to jobs that you are not assigned to in Simpro Premium.
Yes, Simpro Mobile is able to work offline, however, data will not be uploaded from Simpro Mobile to Simpro Premium until you gain a stable connection. Additionally if you are working offline there will be some options that are not accessible.
- Notifications are not delivered while you are offline. Once Simpro Mobile is connected to an internet network, the most recent push notification appears on your device.
- While offline you cannot tap REFRESH ALL SERVICE DATA to download changes from your Simpro Premium build.
- While offline anything submitted or updated in Simpro Mobile won't sync with Simpro Premium. It is automatically queued and sent once you're back online. Any changes in Simpro Premium won't be downloaded and applied in Simpro Mobile until you're back online.
- While offline you can review and update scheduled or due work for the previous, current and upcoming calendar weeks on the Timesheet module.
- While online you can search for and create new time blocks for all pending and progress jobs and for quotes / jobs scheduled or due in preceding or following 45 days in the Timesheet module.
- If you are online, you can add new time blocks for any date by changing the date on the Schedule page, as required. However if you are offline, you can only access and add new time blocks for the current calendar week.
- The FIND A JOB option in the Service module is only available if you are online.
- While working on a job online, you can see which technicians are scheduled to the job and view the time and cost centre they are scheduled to. If you are offline, only the names of other technicians are visible.
- While offline you cannot create new purchase orders.
- While offline you can't use the refresh option to get updated asset testing information.
