How to Create Assets
Overview
Once you have created your Asset Types, Service Levels and Maintenance Pre-builds you can create your assets in Simpro Premium. Learn more in Set Up Assets.
Assets can be created manually, using an import file or from a catalogue item. You can also create assets in Simpro Mobile. However, with Maintenance Planner you cannot associate assets created in Simpro Mobile with a customer contract in the field. You need to access Simpro Premium after the asset is created to add a customer contract and amend service levels as required.
Assets created in Simpro Mobile are automatically associated with the site and customer contract on the scheduled job. Learn more in How to Test Assets.
You can also use barcodes in Simpro Premium to search customer assets. Learn more in How to Use Barcodes in Simpro Premium.
You can manually create individual assets in Utilities > Customer Assets or within the site card file. Alternatively, you can import an asset list. Learn more in How to Manually Create Assets.
Create and update assets in Simpro Premium by importing asset lists into sites according to their asset type. When an asset list has been successfully imported, you can view the newly created assets in their relevant sites in Utilities > Customer Assets. Learn more in How to Import Assets.
When you have a job that involves installing a new asset that you are maintaining in the future, you can create the asset as a catalogue item. When this catalogue item is allocated to a job, you receive an alert to create a new asset in the associated site. To do this, you need the appropriate settings enabled. Learn more in How to Create Assets from Items.
You can organise assets within a site by linking them with parent-child relationships. You can then choose to have the child asset inherit service levels from parent assets. Learn more in How to Use Nested Assets.
