Set Up Your Data

Overview

It is important to have all of your data imported into Simpro Premium to allow you to manage each of your job processes and fulfil all of your reporting requirements. While you can manually enter this data, you may find it easier to import from existing databases.

Customers and suppliers

There are two ways you can import customers and suppliers into Simpro Premium.

If you already have all of your customers and suppliers recorded in your accounting package, you can import customers and suppliers through the accounting link. Learn more about how to use this option with your accounting package in Accounting Link.

Alternatively, you may wish to create CSV files to import customers and suppliers. Learn more in How to Import Customers and How to Import Suppliers.

Employees

While you can manually create your employees, you may find it easier to create a CSV file and import them into Simpro Premium to create multiple employees at once. Learn more in How to Import Employees.

If you are working with MYOB Desktop (AccountRight v19) you are able to import your employees through the accounting link.

Contractors

Contractors in your accounting package are imported through the accounting link into Simpro Premium as suppliers. While you can manually create contractors in Simpro Premium, if you have a high volume of contractors you may find it easier to create an import file.

Catalogues

It is important to populate Simpro Premium with the materials you commonly use on jobs. You can then bill, order, and track stock based on your Simpro Premium catalogue.

If you have obtained files from your suppliers that are formatted specifically for Simpro Premium, you can perform a supplier-specific import. Learn more in How to Import Specific Catalogues.

Alternatively, format your catalogue files according to our template and perform a generic catalogue import. Learn more in How to Import Generic Supplier Catalogues.

Assets

Before importing assets, it is important that your asset types have been set up in Simpro Premium. You can then create an import file for each asset type and import your asset lists into Simpro Premium.

Plant and equipment

Before importing plant and equipment, it is important that your plant types have been set up in Simpro Premium. You can then create an import file for each plant type and import your plant and equipment lists into Simpro Premium.
