Labour rates

Labour rates are hourly chargeout rates used for customer quotes and jobs. They also include estimated hourly labour costs, which are used to estimate labour expenses on quotes. You can create different labour rates for different levels of experience, such as senior technicians and apprentices.

This is also where you enter your overhead, which you can choose to include or exclude in specific labour rates.

To learn how to create labour rates, see How to Create Labour Rates.

Service fees

In Simpro Premium, a service fee is an additional fee you charge on a job or quote, such as a call-out fee with or without labour included. You can add service fees to both service quotes and jobs, as well as project quotes and jobs.

To learn how to create service fees, see How to Set Up Service Fees.

Schedule rates

Schedule rates keep track of actual costs. You may wish to create schedule rates for various levels of overtime, leave, and various activities.

You are able to associate labour rates charged for different schedule rates in each employee and contractor card file. You may also associate a default schedule rate to each activity you have created in Simpro Premium.

When scheduling leads, quotes, jobs and activities for employees and contractors, you can choose which schedule rate applies. You are then able to create timesheets and reports showing how many hours have been worked for a specified period in each schedule rate.

To learn how to create schedule rates, see How to Create Schedule Rates.

Activities

You can use activities to schedule and keep track of non-billable time, such as annual leave, training, and toolbox talks.

Once an activity is created, you can schedule it the same way you schedule quotes and jobs in Simpro Premium, using the schedule day, week, or manual view, as well as in Simpro Mobile. Learn more in Simpro Mobile.

If the technician being scheduled for an activity has a Mobility licence assigned in their card file, they automatically receive a notification in Simpro Mobile when an activity is created or updated.

To learn how to create activities, see How to Use Activities.

Prepaid Labour

Use prepaid time to sell prepaid or up-front services to customers.

To set this up, you first need to create prepaid labour types and prepaid blocks, which you can use to sell prepaid time to a customer.
